EN ROUTE IN BANGKOK: Now by special arrangement, you may choose to be picked up and dropped off from the Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport and experience the sedate flow of the city while staying at some of the most venerable addresses along the banks of the Chaophraya River. Your four-day sojourn includes highlights of Thai culture, a chance to study Thai cuisine, and a night at the nationally acclaimed Siam Niramit Theatre. For more information, please click here.


Day 1: Arrive Paro in Paro, with a relaxed afternoon introduction and tour of national museum. Day 2: Explore the many exquisite temples spread out along Paro's valley floor. Day 3: Begin a gradual climb from the hotel past colorful farmhouses. Camp at Chonana with excellent views of the valley below. Day 4: Slow hike uphill with many opportunities to stop and enjoy the views, forested trail with several species of primula and rhododendrons (in spring). Camp at Jebkarpo. Day 5: Wake up early for views of Mt. Chomolhari, Mt.Tsrim Ghang, and Mt. Jichu Drake (depending on weather) Alternating views of both Haa and Paro valleys along the ridge trail. Camp at Mingula. Day 6: Today's hike follows a trail popular with the region's yak herders. Camp at Thong. Day 7: Return descent to Paro Valley via Drukgyel Dzong. Evening transfer to the capital. Day 8: Walking tour of the capital with opportunities to pick up gifts and souvenirs. Day 9: Transfer to Wangdue with stops at the Dochula Pass and the Hall of 100 Pillars. Day 10: Return transfer to Paro. Day 11: Hike to Tiger's Nest Monastery. Day 12: Return flight to Bangkok or another gateway city.
