A longtime friend of the family, Ed visited Bhutan in the fall and has captured some technically challenging shots that hint at the true scale and majesty of the Bhutan Himalayas. His images also include a picture of His Holiness the Je Khenpo (Bhutan's head abbot) viewing the festival.

For many years now Katie, as we know her, has been a frequent commuter to the coffee growing nations in Latin America to ensure and monitor economically fair trade prices and wages for disadvantaged indigenous coffee growers. However, she took a Himalayan detour with us and was immediately smitten. Her other travels include a journey through India with Arun Gandhi, grandson of the Mahatma and founder of the M.K. Gandhi Institute for Non Violence.
