EN ROUTE IN BANGKOK: Now by special arrangement, you may choose to be picked up and dropped off from the Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport and experience the sedate flow of the city while staying at some of the most venerable addresses along the banks of the Chaophraya River. Your four-day sojourn includes highlights of Thai culture, a chance to study Thai cuisine, and a night at the nationally acclaimed Siam Niramit Theatre. For more information, please click here.


Day 1: Arrive in Paro via Druk Air flight. During this flight, one will experience breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Kanchen Junga and other Himalayan peaks, including the sacred Chomolhari and Mt. Jichu Drake in Bhutan. On arrival at Paro our representative will receive you. The drive to hotel through Paro valley is enchanting. After lunch you will be taken to Ta-dzong (museum). Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Paro sightseeing.
Drive the winding road northwest up the Pa Chu to Drugyal dzong, the ruined fort, which once defended this valley from the Tibetan invasions. Mt. Chomolhari, the sacred summit, reaches skyward beyond the dzong. This can be viewed on a clear day. On the way back you visit a typical Bhutanese farmhouse. After lunch walk up hill just above hotel to stretch your legs for the excursion to Taktshang viewpoint.

Day 3: Paro/Thimphu.
This morning follow the winding road beside the Pa chu (chu means water) downstream to its confluence and then up the Wangchu to Thimphu, the capital. Afternoon lunch at the hotel. After lunch visit the Memorial Chhorten where the faithful circumambulate the shrine dedicated to the late king. Overnight in hotel.

Day 4: Thimphu/Kuruthang.
Drive to Khuruthang with the pack lunch provided by the hotel. Stop at Dochula pass if the weather is clear to get the views of the Himalayan Snowcapped Mountains. Lunch at the camp and then drive to Punakha dzong. Visit the dzong when the monks are in Thimphu.

Day 5: Khuruthang/Limukha.
Drive till Punakha dzong. The trek begins with the gradual climb through chirpine forests. A short visit at the village of Dompala can be organized depending on group's choice. Distance 14 kms, about 5-6 hours. Overnight in tent.

Day 6: Limukha/Chungsakha.
The trail today takes you through rhododendron and oak forested areas. En route pass a famous Drupka Kuenley Lhakhang. Overnight in tent. Distance -14 kms. about 5 -6 hours.

Day 7: Chungsakha/Samtengang.
The trail now takes you through the village of Sha Wangdue district. Camp at Samtengang by the lakeside. Distance -13 kms. about 5 hours.

Day 8: Samtengang/Wangdue/Thimphu.
The trail now drops down till the motor road. Drive till Wangduephodrang. Lunch at the tourist lodge, and then continue drive to Thimphu. Overnight in hotel.

Day 9: Thimphu/sightseeing.
A full day of sightseeing and shopping in Thimphu. Wander in the town, visit the Handicrafts emporium. Visit the workshop where all the handicrafts are produced. Afternoon visit Tashichho dzong. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10:
Thimphu/Paro airport. Drive Paro for onward flight.
