EN ROUTE IN BANGKOK: Now by special arrangement, you may choose to be picked up and dropped off from the Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport and experience the sedate flow of the city while staying at some of the most venerable addresses along the banks of the Chaophraya River. Your four-day sojourn includes highlights of Thai culture, a chance to study Thai cuisine, and a night at the nationally acclaimed Siam Niramit Theatre. For more information, please click here.

Day 1: Arrive in Paro Valley. Visit the national museum and the Paro Dzong or fortress. Day 2: Tiger's Nest Monastery hike, with evening transfer to the capital, Thimphu. Day 3: Walking tour of the capital, with a stop at a traditional papermaking workshop. Day 4: Transfer to Wangduephodrang and Punakha Valleys, with a stop to view the greater himalayas at Dochula pass. Day 5: Explore the Punakha valley, including the Hall of 100 Pillars and a hike to the Zangthopelri pagoda. Days 6 & 7: Visit the Wangduephodrang ridgetop fortress with a relaxed afternoon stroll through the picturesque ricefields of Metsina to the temple dedicated to the "divine madman". Transfer to central Bhutan. Day 8: Walking tour of the Jakar valley with stops at the Kurje and Jambay Lhakhang temples, among the earliest in the kingdom. Day 9: Hike to the Ugyencholing Palace, legacy of the Deb Raja Tshokey Dorji, today preserved as a museum and an upscale lodge. Day 10: Return transfer to Wangduephodrang. Day 11: Return to the capital, afternoon stroll through downtown Thimphu. Day 12: Transfer to Paro and visit valley floor temples with evening stroll through town. Day 13: A traditonal day at one of the valley's farms OR an excursion to the recently opened Haa Valley. Day 14: Return flight to Bangkok or another gateway city.
